Isaac Giles Ms. Lehmann English 2-1B 9 October Trip to Salmon When my alarm went off I got up very quickly because I had forgot that I had set it last night. I got up because I was hungry and walked into the kitchen to grab a granola bar. I saw my dad and mom talking, so I walked over. I asked, “Why are you up this early?” “We’re up because we’re planning on going on a vacation.” Suddenly, I hear stomping and running through the house and my brothers appeared, looking like they just woke up and were excited. We hadn’t gone on vacation in years, so finally we were able to go. Isaiah was the first one to say, “Where and when are we going to go?” “Salmon, Idaho, and we are going in 1 hour,” replied my mom. After she said that, we started packing for the trip, and we knew it was going to be long. After 6 hours of being in the middle of nowhere, I finally saw the town that we were going to be staying in. I looked to my left to see another town. Weird, I thought, then I realized that is was a ghost town. It was a huge town, too. Mom and dad had found the hotel so we went to our room and started to unpack. We were all tired because we had been in a car for 12 hours, so we were unpacking really slowly. As soon as we got done unpacking ,dad went and bought Burger King and we sat and ate our food in silence. “When are we going to the ghost town? I'm bored,” said Luke. “We are going tomorrow morning, so it’s not so hot. Also, we’re tired,” replied Dad. The next day, in the morning, we all woke up at the same time because we all were excited. We finally went to the ghost town. When we had got there I realized that all the houses were old, and there were abandoned mining caves. All day we were looking and walking into the abandon homes. We took some pictures of us together, and finally, after going farther into the mountains, we went back to the hotel to get some rest. While our parents were talking, I asked, “Hey, do you want to go to the swimming pool? It also has a hot tub.” I turned to see what their answer was, but they were already out the door running towards the swimming pool. I ran to catch up to them. When we got inside the pool house, we saw that the pool was huge but filled with ice cold water. We messed around, breaking the rules until there was no one except us in the pool house. Isaiah said, “Let’s mess around for a bit more and then we can go back to the room.” Luke said excitedly, “Okay, but we better swim now cause it’s nearly midnight.” After he said that, we all started messing around and ran around till 1:00 in the morning. We went back to the room and went to sleep because we were tired. The next morning, we already knew that we had to go back to Eden, so we packed our stuff and headed back to where we lived. As soon as we passed the ghost town, I wished we could have gone there again, but I knew we couldn’t. We got back and resumed our daily lives. I realized that was one of the most things I've done in all my life. Personal Narrative Reflection
